2007

High school

My introduction to photography began in 2007 when I took my first darkroom class in high school. The science and magic of developing film and prints had me hooked. In 2009, I majored in Photographic Technology, which also kickstarted my design career and has led me to some pretty cool places.

Things I’ve learned along the way:

  1. Photography is not reality.

  2. Everyone and everything can be beautiful.

  3. Photography is just as dependent on luck as education and talent.

  4. The film is free (digitally at least) - so don’t stop shooting until you get the shot or enough shots to photo-stitch together one decent shot (refer back to #1).

  5. Ask for forgiveness, not permission (within reason and always legally).
