CAse Study:
Credit Union Website Redesign

The brief

THE CHALLENGE
Redesign the website for a local credit union. The main concerns are updating the site to something modern, clean, and responsive while also allowing for growth and ease of use to the marketing team. Additionally, the site should be setup in a way to help members and potential members find exactly what they are looking for quickly and above the fold for ease of use.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Members and potential members 18-65+ that live within the Field of Membership.

More focus on the core demographic of adults in their prime and making numerous financial decisions — Primary Checking needs, saving, car purchases, home purchases, retirement and financial education.

  • The project began with a discovery meeting with the client to hash out current pain points, their vision for the future and any financial on non-financial websites they like the look and functionality of.

From there, a deep dive into financial institution websites global was conducted. Header styling, amount of menu items, Online Banking Login location, and length of pages were some of the factors that were compared. These findings were brought to the client to narrow down how they would prefer the new site to look and function.

With all of these considerations a menu structure, wireframe and site map were created and approved before moving onto the initial design phase.

Wireframes

  • The initial design began after discovery, research, sitemap, and wireframe development. Using the established branding, desktop and mobile options were designed for the home page and product pages.

Once the initial design of the hompage and product pages were approved, the site as sent to our developer. With these initial pages coded, we did user testing using UserBrain to ensure proof of concept and find any potential issues with the initial concept before proceeding with the full site.

After thorough user testing and making a few adjustments we went through with the full build in the CMS and worked closely with the Marketing Team and Digital Marketing Manager to do a current site review, write updated content and build out over 300 web pages for launch.
